Insects.
Insects are one of the most diverse groups of animals in the world, and Queensland’s wet tropics contains one of the most diverse collections of insects in the world.
Commonly known as creepy-crawlies, or bugs, and generally disliked, insects can actually be quite friendly – so friendly, in fact, that they may want to get in your bed with you, or in your cup of tea. Many insects up here bite, and the ones that don’t tend to crawl and this gives them all a bad reputation, but if you spend the time to get to know them, many are actually quite easy going and companionable.
